Autism & Neurofeedback

“Lynette Louise has a unique perspective of people–their capabilities, their strengths to do more than one think could be, their influence in their world. She is an encourager for living life fully as much as one can. She has a phenomenal understanding of neurological processes, neuroanatomical areas and their functions, and neurochemical actions. Lynette is an excellent neuro-feedback therapist. Her entertainment skills are well honed. Her ethical morals/ integrity are of above reproach. It is obvious that I highly recommend her in multiple areas.”  ~Rebecca M Argo, MD – Diplomat, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

How did a single mom stand-up comedian from Canada find herself traveling the globe as an autism specialist, neurofeedback practitioner and speaker brainiac? One who is currently the top student in her PhD class, getting a doctorate in psychophysiology? And how has she managed to incorporate under one roof her love of people, performing, behavior and brain science; ultimately becoming one of the loudest voices for acceptance and answers in the world of brain disorders? It was easy! A lifetime of working hard for, believing in, and insisting on healing for her family, her clients and herself!

Lynette Louise has been doubly board certified in Neurofeedback and studied for her PhD in Psychology with a specialty in Psychophysiology at Saybrook University (ABD). Lynette’s life and education have always been unique. In 2003 she became the only professional from the Autism Treatment Center of America to be certified in two modalities: Option Process Mentor Counselor and Child Facilitator. Lynette has been practicing the Option Process since 1997 and working with autism since 1983, when she first began adopting children–four of whom had many diagnoses, including autism.

As an expert Lynette has been able to help hundreds of adults and children with a combination of playroom, dialogue, and family dynamics counseling. However, after discovering neurofeedback in 2004 (neurofeedback is a therapy that improves functioning by training individuals to control their own brainwave activity) Lynette was so impressed that she decided to add neurofeedback to her list of accomplishments. In Lynette’s hands this special cocktail of play, family dynamics, and neurofeedback has changed the trajectory of healing for families of brain disorders around the globe.

Formerly of The Brain Injury Therapy Clinic in Westlake, CA—where she worked closely with Dr. Burke, chief scientist for EEG Spectrum— to date Lynette has successfully helped clients around the world with Bipolar Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Tourette’s Syndrome, Seizure Disorders, Stroke, ADHD, Depression, Addiction, Sensory Integration Dysfunction, Traumatic Brain Injury, Anorexia and more.

In 2004 Lynette founded the Brain and Body Clinic, a treatment center for autism and other brain disorders. Although originally based in Santa Monica, California, Lynette decided a clinical setting was counterproductive for the majority of her clients. She now works on site with clients and their families all over the world.

Her knowledge of the subject is so intuitive that invitations to speak internationally and consultation requests have become the norm. Lynette’s passion for the brain, autism and people in general is infectious, making learning with Lynette surprising and fun.
